London Revisited Outings  (1st of two) to Reading Museum

Derek has arranged with the Learning Office of the Reading Museum for bespoke 1 hour Guided tours of their full-size copy of the 19th century Bayeux Tapestry with sufficient time to enjoy the other treasures of this museum.

Details:         Rather than pay a fortune to view the Bayeux Tapestry to be exhibited later this year at a crowded British Museum, why not use your Freedom Card and travel to Reading (via the Elizabeth Line) and have a guided bespoke Guided tour of their magnificent full size copy as well as time to view other art and contents of this outstanding museum. The dates booked are:   Wednesday, 20 May for a 2.00pm tour and Tuesday, 9 June for a 11.00am tour.

Travel:   For the 20th May outing, we meet in the foyer beyond the gates at Ealing Broadway station for 11.50 before descending to the platform to catch the 11.57 Elizabeth Line train to Reading arriving in Reading with plenty of time for using their cafe/wander through the museum before the 2.00pm tour.   To return to Ealing, the Elizabeth Line runs every Half Hour and the station is only a 10-minute walk from the Museum.

Cost and numbers:          The cost of the guided tours will be £7 per person and I can take up to an absolute Maximum of 20 per trip.

Booking  and Payment:    As usual, applicants can book a place at the upcoming Thursday morning talks or via the Ealing U3A website or phone/text me on 07504 667005 or email me on derek112a@virginmedia.com. I can only accept Cash and I am happy to accept payment on the day of travel if convenient.  Also, as usual, applications are on a first come basis.
