2 x Guided tours of  Battle of Britain Bunker + Museum on Wed 14th & Tuesday 20th October

Guided visits to Battle of Britain Bunker along with access to the excellent attached Museum located at Wren Avenue UB10 OGG, Uxbridge.  This is the original Bunker, set out as it was in 1940 during the final days of the Battle of Britain. We will have a guide explaining the events and this tour will start at 12.00 for about 1 Hour. You will see a couple of original Spitfires & Hurricanes outside and also inside the Museum.  There is also a cafe available with seating service refreshments, etc. NOTE- these outings are available to EVERY Ealing U3A member to apply - it is NOT a closed group.

WHEN:          WED 14TH OCTOBER @ 12.00  and TUESDAY 20TH OCTOBER @ 12.00

TRAVEL :       SL8 BUS TOWARDS UXBRIDGE from bus stop from outside Boots/Specsave opticians for a 10.10ish departure and get off at Park Road, Uxbridge (Stop N) with a 10 min walk through a park to the Bunker. Other attendees can, of course, catch a SL8 from any other stop on the route. Attendees can look to make their own way by car etc but please let me know. The return to Ealing etc will be different as we will catch a 427 bus.

Numbers & Costs:     I have booked 20 spaces for each outing and have managed to keep the cost down to £10 only. It may be possible for me to book a few extra places nearer the dates of the tours if there is demand.

We should arrive at the Bunker for 11.10ish giving time for a cuppa and a walk around the museum dedicated to life during the war years-The Guided tour starts dead on 12.00 just outside the entrance to the complex. After the guided tour any member can stay for longer to have more refreshments and time in the museum.   NOTE:  there are 50/60 steps to navigate to the bottom of the bunker and no lift.
